One of the world’s most iconic vehicle makes will retire next year, with the last VW Beetle rolling off the assembly line in July 2019.
The move is part of a reduction in “Complexity.” VW currently offers over 300 different vehicle variants in production worldwide.
The Beetle debuted in Germany in 1938 and was sold in North America from 1949 until 1979. In 1998, the Beetle was reintroduced.
