Background
Location: Trenton, MI
Fleet Size: 23 Vehicles
Industry: Government
THE CHALLENGE
The City of Trenton was paying more than $6K annually per vehicle in maintenance costs. The city budgeted to replace 3 vehicles per year for $180K, but with their mileage patterns and patrolled radius, they needed to replace 5–7 vehicles a year. Safety was also a concern—the average vehicle was 10-yearsold with 92K miles. The city wanted to switch from Police Interceptors to Tahoe police pursuit vehicles, but they could not afford to do so as the cost to add after-market equipment was increasing to over $20K per vehicle.
THE SOLUTION
Enterprise Fleet Management helped the City of Trenton finance vehicles through open-ended equity leases and incorporated the cost of after-market equipment. Plus, instead of selling their vehicles through auction at minimal costs, they utilized Enterprise resale channels and maintenance programs to get the most out of their fleet program.
