Volkswagen Expected to Launch Small Crossover Vehicle in U.S. and Canada
Production will begin at the Volkswagen plant in Mexico on the Tarek, a small crossover vehicle in 2020. It’s anticipated that it will be available across North
America starting in 2021.
With lower gas prices in the Canada and U.S. markets, smaller vehicle sales have slumped. This change has pushed VW to innovate in the crossover space.
The shift in the market ended the production of the iconic VW beetle earlier this year. VW has been making attempts to consolidate and make smart modifications to its comparatively diverse product offering.
The Tarek is a comparable version of the Tharu which is offered in the Chinese market today.
