The Favorite Global Car Color is White

36% of car owners globally prefer white vehicles, for the seventh consecutive year.

One of the most special moments when buying a car, beyond all the technology and features, consumers love choosing the color of their future car.

Philadelphia-based Axalta Coating Systems’ annual report shows that globally, white is the preferred vehicle color. In Asia, 60% of cars sold are White, while in the U.S. and Europe white has 25% market share.

Geography and car type together inform color choices. Consider that manufacturers may limit or alter color options based on the vehicle type. In Europe, 34% of luxury SUVs are black, but approximately 15% of compact cars are black.
